major label debut, and it’s hot! His two singles have been blowing up on radio stations for months, and with this album the streets will be filled with Mike Jone’s chants in no time.
This album starts off with his second single ‘Back Then’
How could anybody deny this hot beat? The synth is catchy, and the bass and drums blare. This song definitly gets a club popping. This song is typical of Jones with shameless self-promotion and clever rhymes. He asserts in this song that women thought he was a chump, and a loser until he got paid. Then even the same ones who said he was just too damn chubby where beggin Jones to pull down their panties. Point well taken.
‘Flossin’ is a song you can play for your girl. She’ll appreciate the smooth R&B style, and you’ll appreciate how Mike Jones’ voice gets your girl to grind up on you. Thank Jones later.
His Third song off the album was his first radio single, ‘Still Tippin’
This song features Slim Thug on the hook and first verse, and fellow Swisha House member Paul Wall.
The beat is so hot, the violin makes you want to tear a lane up. Jones’ flow again expresses the fact he got no attention from the ladies when he was broke with the line ‘Back Then, hoe’s didn’t want me, Now I’m hot Hoe’s all me.’
Paul Wall lends his smooth texan flow to this song, and I think he makes the song shine. This is a definite banger.
